Our Ethics & Standards

Blueberries

As an Indigenous catering and storytelling company, we are accountable to our Nations for how we uphold our responsibilities to our people, our lands, and the generations to come.

Our ethics come from the living teachings that shape how we move through this work. These are the values that guide us in every meal prepared, every relationship built, and every decision made.

  • No one leaves hungry. Whether it’s a paying client or a community member in need, we ensure food is accessible.

  • Every meal is sacred. From large feasts to small plates, we cook with the same care, respect, and intention.

  • Honour the gift of nourishment. We acknowledge the land, the animals, and the hands that brought this food to the table.

Wealth is Meant to Circulate

  • Profit is not ours to keep. We reinvest in our communities through fair wages, sponsorships, and providing meals for those who don't have the budget.

  • Charge higher where we must, so we can give where it’s needed. Outside clients help sustain our ability to feed our own.

  • Support other Indigenous businesses. We source from Indigenous growers, harvesters, and suppliers whenever possible.

We Work with Integrity & Reciprocity

  • Honesty in all dealings. No false promises, no shortcuts, just good food and good relations.

  • Trade, gift, and share when money isn’t the answer. Some things are beyond transactions.

  • Pay our debts to our land and to each other. We compost, reduce waste, and give back to the land that feeds us.

Uplift Our People in Every Way

  • Hire Indigenous first. Training and employment opportunities go to our relatives and community members.

  • Pay living wages. No exploitation, no undervaluing labour, our Helpers thrive when our people thrive.

  • Feed the next generation. We mentor youth, share skills, and ensure they see a future in this work.

Respect the Land & the Food

  • Source ethically. Local, traditional, and sustainable ingredients take priority.

  • No waste. We use every part we can, compost what remains, and honour the life given.

  • Protect our Homeland foodways. Revitalize traditional recipes, methods, and teachings in our menus.

We Are Accountable to Our Communities

  • Stay humble. Success doesn’t make us better; it makes us more responsible.

  • Listen to Elders and Knowledge People. Their guidance steers our path.

  • Stand by our word. If we commit, we follow through, no matter what.

Every Meal is an Act of Resistance

  • Reject colonial scarcity mindsets. There is enough when we share.

  • Challenge systems that keep our people hungry. We use our platform to advocate for food sovereignty.

  • Celebrate Indigenous abundance. Our feasts are declarations: We are still here, and we take care of our own.

This is how we work. This is who we are.

We are not just a catering company.

We are two proud Tsilhqot’in and syilx Peoples.

Every plate we serve, every feast we set, every hand we shake is rooted in the unshakable values of our Peoples.

We do this work because it is our duty and responsibility to feed, uplift, and honour our communities in the way our teachings have always called us to do.

This is the work Creator gave us, and we do it with pride.

With hands to the land and hearts to the People.
